What you will do:
Material Handlers will pick, and ship finished product to our customers while following all safety and quality procedures. Receive in product after confirming counts and quantities match. Load/unload product with hand truck or fork truck and maintain inventory accuracy via RF handhelds. This position requires you to be on your feet all day. The employee may have to lift objects/equipment from time to time on the floor individually or as a team (40 lbs.). Physical movements necessary to perform this job are pushing, pulling, and bending.
The ideal candidate will have:Receives and unloads freightPicks and loads finished product to our customersMove materials manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacksInspects for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with invoice and purchase orderTransfer of products within the warehouse using a RF handheldUnloading and loading of supplies, materials, cartons, finished product, etc. for inter-company deliveriesLoad and operate stretch wrapping equipment.Operate fork truck (Change battery, daily safety checks, drive)Transfers supplies to and from locations or storage areas physically and within JDE confirms all movements are correct and accurateCommunicate information effectively with co-workers from all shiftsClean and maintain work/common areasFollow all safety and quality proceduresMaterial Handlers must be experienced in using battery Fork Trucks, and propane Fork Trucks.Battery Fork Truck
As a certified forklift operator, you are required to change batteries on your fork truck. Recently charged batteries will need to be checked for water level/filled with water manually (if needed) before installing new battery onto fork truckAll safety guidelines must be followed when moving, removing, and installing batteriesPropane Fork Truck
As a certified forklift operator, you are required to change propane fuel tanks (cylinder) on your fork truck. Empty cylinders are removed and replaced with full cylinder and must be properly securedAll safety guidelines must be followed when removing and installing propane tanksAdditional qualifications that will help you be successful in this role:
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience working in distribution center or warehouseMust have a one to three plus years in a distribution environmentExperience operating a fork truckCertified Forklift OperatorAbility to work with individuals or groupsStrong communication & organizational skillsBasic math & computer skillsAbility to speak, read and write English
