Description
We are looking for a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our delivery team. In this role, you will be an essential part of our supply chain operations, ensuring that our customers receive their goods safely, on time, and with the highest level of service. Your responsibilities will include driving our delivery vehicles to transport goods, handling loads with care, managing delivery paperwork, and assisting with warehouse duties such as inventory management, order preparation, and loading/unloading materials. Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans, trucks, or cars, to transport goods to various destinations
- Load and unload products from vehicles, ensuring that items are secured properly to prevent damage during transportation
- Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, charges are correct, and customers are satisfied
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery logs and vehicle maintenance records
- Follow delivery schedules and routes efficiently to meet delivery times
- Adhere to traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
- Report any mechanical problems or accidents encountered during the workday
- Assist in warehouse operations, such as receiving, sorting, and stocking merchandise, as needed
- Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move goods in the warehouse
- Communicate with dispatch or management regarding delays, unforeseen issues, or customer complaints
- Collect signatures from customers
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum age of 21 years (or as required by state law for commercial driving)
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws
- Ability to prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle
- Experience working in a warehouse environment and handling inventory is a plus
- Willingness to obtain certification if required
