The Director leads a team of marketing professionals and collaborates closely with other departments to create compelling campaigns that attract visitors, maximize occupancy rates, and customer lifetime value, and promote the resort's unique offerings. Director actively participates in the overall leadership conversation. They offer direct contributions to resort-wide initiatives and programs, while continually improving the long-term position of the resort.

Qualifications

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and comprehensive plans that drive revenue growth, marketing attributed conversions, customer lifetime value, and positive brand sentiment.Strong understanding of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing.Experience with customer journey and marketing funnel optimization.Direct experience building integrated marketing campaign plans and creative and media agency briefs.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of channels.Demonstrated leadership ability with experience organizing, managing, and motivating high-performing team to aligned, impactful products and achieve targeted results.Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving.Brand development experience and a creative mindset, with a passion for innovation and driving positive change.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.Knowledge of the hospitality industry, including trends, competitors, and customer preferencesExperience must include at least 7-10 years of progressive Marketing and Management experience with at least 3 years at the senior management level.Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and processes to achieve occupancy and revenue targets and enhance the resort's market position.Lead the creation of marketing, public relations, and media plans and budgets, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives, targeted guest market segments and geographic regions, and ROI targets.Lead, mentor, and motivate the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Effectively organize roles, functions, and duties to ensure that the division's work is being done effectively and consistently with proper resource allocation.Responsible for seeking and managing corporate partnerships, negotiating agreements, and leveraging synergies to enhance the resort's brand visibility and revenue streams.Oversee the resort's digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns.Identify changes and challenges in the industry and understand what is needed from a tech, team, and partner perspective to stay ahead of it.Monitor and analyze marketing metrics and KPIs to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and make data-informed recommendations.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Resort departments, industry associations, and local businesses.Ensure brand consistency and adherence to brand standards across all marketing materials and communication channels for the entire Resort.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marketing and hospitality to maintain a competitive edge.

Focus

Tasks and Duties

Establish, implement, and communicate the strategic & operational direction (vision) of the division that aligns with resort and company goals.Serve an active leader who is visible throughout the division and a present and direct champion of an active feedback loop. Utilizes and develops communication resources to maintain, oversee and improve the active feedback loop throughout the division.Develop Division's operating budget and key operating metrics; actively measure, review and analyze supporting data to achieve established targets. Work both independently and with the division management team to establish, communicate and implement operations & performance related programs, guidelines, and standards to ensure effective and consistent execution throughout the division.Possess an active growth mindset; develop and maintain coaching and professional development programs throughout the division.Collaborate with other Directors and is active in resort-wide leadership programs. Support and make direct contributions to company initiatives and programs; contribute to overall industry/professional expertise base.Communication and Team Involvement

Lead with a positive, proactive and thoughtful leadership style involving different people and perspectives. Cultivate decision ownership and empowerment throughout the division's leadership team. Communicate with resort management teams to establish best work solutions for shared functionsEnsure a feedback loop that includes staff members at all levels is in place to underscore the resort's team-oriented culture.Lead regular meetings with division management staff to provide direction in regards to long-term objectives. Create impromptu connection moments by being visible and present throughout the division and personally engage with all levels of staff to maintain a sense of communication, connection, understanding and recognition.Collaborate with the Director team to actively support, grow and broaden the impact of division and resort programs, initiatives, and policies. Take a leadership role through the year by contributing to the overall expertise base.

Decision-Making and Initiative

Use existing measurements (and develop new ones as needed) to consistently analyze division departmental profitability; develop short/long-term revenue and profitability strategies; focus team on areas of highest impact.Ensure accountability, ownership and integrity throughout division by proactive monitoring, inspecting and coaching.Model and cultivate a decision-making process that is balanced and distributed and incorporates careful data analysis, operational observation and monitoring of evolving business/industry trends.Professional Development and Mentoring

Model ongoing professional development by taking classes, expanding knowledge and/or maintaining an active professional industry/community network. Represent resort at local and industry functions/programs.Grow leaders within the organization through coaching objectives that encourage development and growth. Encourage employees to take advantage of resort-wide integration, communication and development initiatives (on and off the resort).Continually promote learning and development opportunities for managers and high-performing individuals outside of the workplace.Develop and implement organizational plans, business programs/products and operational strategies/policies that are in-line with evolving industry, resort and business trends/needs.
