Description

The Clinical Nurse Educator is a patient care provider. The primary role is monitoring, coordination, orientation, training, and education along the continuum of the nursing functions across Moody locations to direct care staff. In addition to fulfilling the duties of a RN as needed; this position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies in the nursing and direct care programs as well as making sure these teams have the skills and tools needed to follow best practices and provide safe and effective care to the patients at Moody. This position will work closely with the CCO, Nurse Director, Program Directors and Quality Improvement and Compliance Specialist for program and policy development and service delivery models. The Clinical Compliance Nurse will also work closely with Business Development to support Moody's Mission of being an industry expert in brain injury by developing and providing education to the community.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensure safety and compliance through training in the nursing and residential departments; represent Moody as the industry expert in brain injury to the community.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for orientation and ongoing training and education for nursing staff, ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance through practice and documentation. Coordinates with Residential and Clinical Managers for orientation and ongoing training and education of direct care and clinical staff. Resource for patient and family education in conjunction with clinical and direct care staff through development of in-services and other educational programs. Coordinates with the Physician, Nurse Director, and Program Directors to ensure Moody can meet the medical needs of the patients. Responsible for development and presentation of education for community outreach such as CEU activities and brain injury awareness activities. Coordinate with CCO and Nurse Director for program development; helping identify appropriate equipment and ensuring appropriate staff education to be able to meet the needs of the populations served. Assist in research efforts both of Moody employees and affiliates. Function as an RN as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education:

Associates Degree in Nursing required. Experience:

RN training and education of staff experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish beneficial DEMANDS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF WORK, EQUIPMENT USAGE, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT. PERCENTAGE OF WORK TIME (1-33%)

Acuity, far - clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Acuity, near - clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Depth perception - three-dimensional vision. The ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are they actually are. Field of vision - the area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while the eyes are fixed on a given point. Accommodation - adjustment of the lens of the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances from the eye. Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
