Assistant Shift Managers are employed to direct Food & Beverage front of house staff in performing their daily duties, ensure consistent internal and external guest service, and assist with scheduling, payroll, corrective action, departmental training, and shift coverage.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of any designated shift(s) in the food and beverage front-of-house and beverage areas.Accountable for responsible alcohol sales and service.Responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Manager with daily responsibilities. Will step in as the department point of contact in the Food and Beverage Manager's absence.Assists with creating effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs.Reviewing and approving the departments payroll. Addresses payroll issues and concerns as they arise.Assists on the budget process for the department and provides recommendations: Reports any budgeting concerns to the manager.Ensures guest service standards are followed by all associates and addresses issues as they arise.Responsible for departmental recognition programs to maximize associate engagement.Enforce internal control policies and procedures.Assists Food and Beverage Manager in the implementation of food and beverage strategies and tactics for a casino property.Ability to authorize and issue complimentary services to patrons in accordance with the approved Complimentary Matrix which is part of internal control section 465a.7.Assist with timely development and implementation of menus being mindful of costs, usage and rotation of products used.Assists and advises other departments and company personnel, as necessary, to assure the successful performance of the Food and Beverage department and the company overall.Knowledge of sanitation laws and health regulations and applicable OSHA regulations.Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.Other job duties as assigned.DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF EXPERIENCE OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Four to seven years' experience in Food and Beverage operations, related fields or equivalent work experience is preferred.Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, managers, business partners, and patrons.Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and as business needs dictate.Must be able to receive and maintain all required certifications.Must complete all required company training.Must be at least 21 years of and and willing and able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License.
