Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm – 2nd shift, 8-hour shift.
Location: Newington, CT
SUMMARY
Transport materials and mail between Data-Mail Facilities and designated vendors
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive Class A and B vehicles, Company Vans and pick ups, Standard and Automated Transmission, operating up to & including 53’ dry vans
Load and unload materials/mail using fork truck and electric ride on hand trucks
Keep accurate driving log records: manually and electronic logs
Maintain effective communication with Supervisors regarding loads at both facilities
Serve as yard jockey in multiple Newington and Windsor Plants
Processing, scanning and securing materials for each load in safe and efficient manner. Ability to process materials for inventory use and locate materials in rack warehouse system, using barcode functionality
Keep work areas neat and clean, including all company vehicles
Comply with company rules and regulations
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data
Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department
Keep manager/supervisor informed of situations that will affect the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives
Flexibility to perform various warehouse related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED plus 1-2 years’ experience in operating multiple style forklift.
CDL Class A license is required w/ at least 1 year on the job experience
Operation of both Standard and Automatic transmissions a must
Knowledge of State Of Ct DOT Regulations
COMPETENCIES
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Computer Experience w/ barcoding
Good/clean driving record.
