Who we’re looking for:
The Director, Contract Management performs all functions related to the contracting process for assigned business partners, which may include Pharmaceutical, Medical Products and Services, or Business Products and Services business partners. The Director Contract Management is responsible for preparing, coordinating, and managing contract negotiations as well as the ongoing relationships with assigned Business Partners, including, but not limited to, new agreements, renewal agreements, amendments, and product/price change notifications.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Contract Management, Planning and Implementation
In-depth understanding of regulations, and compliance requirements. This includes knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Anti-Kickback Statute, and other relevant regulations that govern post-acute care providers. Staying updated with changes in these regulations and ensuring all contracts are in compliance.
Contracting Strategy - Develop and implement long-term plans that align with the organization’s goals. This includes identifying opportunities for growth, optimizing contract portfolios, and ensuring that all contracts support the strategic objectives of the GPO.
Contract Implementation Management - Ensure contracts are fully executed and communicated to all relevant parties, providing visibility and facilitating seamless implementation.
Contract Maintenance - Manage ongoing contract maintenance, including product additions, price changes, renewals, and extensions, ensuring contracts remain relevant and effective.
Risk Mitigation - Identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts to include assessing potential legal, financial, and operational risks and developing strategies to address them. Address Sales and Operations contract-related issues promptly, demonstrating problem-solving skills and commitment to service excellence. Ensure that all contracts are structured to minimize risk and protect the interests of the organization.
Contract Negotiation & Administration
Ability to negotiate favorable terms and manage the lifecycle of contracts. This involves drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts while ensuring that all terms are advantageous to the organization.
Responsible for streamlining the creation, negotiation, execution, compliance, storage, and renewals across the MHA trade department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.
Provide redlined recommendations on standard and nonstandard contracts based on MHA policies; coordinate negotiations between MHA Legal and Business Partners to ensure timely review and reconciliation of contract drafts.
Lead or support various business review discussions, driving strategic alignment and decision-making.
Perform peer review functions on contract amendments, ensuring accuracy quality and compliance with MHA standards.
Financial Management & Analytics
A strong understanding of financial principles is necessary to evaluate the financial implications of contracts. This includes cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and identify trends that could impact contract performance. The ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively to address issues that arise during the contract lifecycle.
Capable of making data-driven decisions that enhance the financial performance of the GPO.
Ensures that contracts are fulfilled by tracking progress, analyzing performance metrics, and resolving disputes effectively.
Communications
Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as the primary point of contact, along with Trade Leadership, for assigned Business Partners on contractual matters, fostering strong relationships and communication.
Project Management

Manage projects as assigned, utilizing organizational skills to meet deadlines and deliver results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders on contract terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Process Development - Develop and manage the contract routing process with the Legal department, streamlining workflows for better efficiency.
Proactive Coordination - Proactively coordinate with Sales, Finance, Operations, and other MHA teams on contract terms and conditions, enhancing communication and reducing risk.
Training and Development - Conduct and facilitate training for Contract Managers, enhancing team capabilities and knowledge.
Leadership and Technology
Lead a team of contract managers, fostering a collaborative environment and ensure that the team operates efficiently to meet organizational goals.
Familiarity with contract management software and other relevant technologies for streamlining processes and improving efficiency. Capable of leveraging technology to manage contracts, analyze data, and enhance overall productivity.

BA/BS in degree; MBA a preferred.
8+ years with experience in contract management, customer service, operations, or analytics in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
5-7 years managerial experience
Strong negotiation skills
Strong contracting strategy and administration experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
Requires excellent planning, organizational, analytical, follow-through, and self-management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and client-server-based applications and databases.
