Job Description
Turner and Townsend are seeking a Data Center Construction Portfolio Planning Resource Manager to lead the development and execution of portfolio-level resource management strategy to enable multi-year retrofit and upgrade plans for a growing portfolio of data center facilities. This role will leverage portfolio objectives, short and long-term plans, and operational targets to design and deploy an enterprise portfolio-level resource management strategy in support of long term retrofit planning. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of resource forecasting and management methodologies and tools, capacity throughput analysis, and portfolio planning, along with the ability to work effectively within a matrixed environment.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring resource planning is seamlessly integrated with the portfolio’s long-term planning governance and processes. This role is responsible for optimizing resource forecasting and allocation across the project portfolio, ensuring the right planning can be achieved for projects to be adequately staffed with the right skills and expertise. The Resource Manager will work closely with the portfolio planner, governance forums, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to develop and execute a methodology forecast resource needs, identify and resolve resource conflicts, and implement resource management best practices to ensure retrofit and capital efforts meet capacity, risk, and business goals.
Resource Estimating, Forecasting, and Planning
Recommend and implement resource planning best practices.
Forecast future resource needs based on short- and long-term portfolio plans.
Develop and validate resource plans for the project portfolio.
Resource Assessment
Analyze resource capacity and demand, identify potential bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to optimize.
Collaborate with delivery teams to assess current and future resource requirements.
Identify resource gaps and develop plans to address gaps.
Resource Management Tools and Processes
Collaborate on governance and processes to implement portfolio planning resource management.
Provide requirements for tool development in support of process automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in resource management at an enterprise portfolio level.
Proven ability to forecast and plan resources for multi-year roadmaps for large portfolios.
Expertise in portfolio planning techniques to align strategic objectives with operational KPIs.
Experience with capacity throughput analysis.
Familiarity with long-term planning strategies.
Proven ability to navigate matrixed organizations and work effectively across departments and geographies.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related eld (Advanced degree preferred).
Certification in Project Management (PMP).
Experience working with global data center portfolios or large-scale retrofit construction projects.
Familiarity with systems engineering principles related to IT procurement and implementation.
Technical Skills & Tools
Advanced proficiency with resource management tools.
Proficiency with program, project, and portfolio planning and management tools.
Ability to analyze data, communicate insights, and develop recommendations.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
Experience with resource management related to prioritizing capital investments.
Fundamental Consulting & Interpersonal Skills
Resource Management: Ability to develop and execute resource planning methodology and processes.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across matrixed organizations and with external stakeholders.
Problem Solving & Decision Making: Analytical mindset with experience diagnosing issues and delivering actionable solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Strong focus on innovation and process improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing new solutions.
Additional Information
The salary range for this full-time role is $170K-$175 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
