JOB SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator III, under limited supervision, is responsible for participation in planning, design, installation, maintenance, and management of networking and infrastructure systems. A Systems Administrator III must have a substantial level of understanding in IP data networks, computing systems, communications, security protocols, and related hardware/software and overall technology that is used. Duties include documenting system requirements, formulating scope, defining objectives, and creating system specifications that drive system configuration and implementation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Overall responsibility to maintain and provide trouble shooting support for the following systems: local and wide area networks, ERP application, e-mail, internet access, time and attendance, office automation, backup systems, telecommunication systems, meeting rooms and display boards.

Provide expert support to business systems database environment.

User administration for Astronics applications.

Ensures computing and network infrastructure environment is secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed according to established procedures.

Participates in planning and designing of computing and network infrastructure.

Is responsible for monitoring performance of selected network and servers to identify potential problems and bottlenecks.

Provides support to helpdesk, business system staff or less experienced systems administrators.

Analyze complex business needs presented by the users and recommends and/or implements technical solutions in line with existing solutions.

Promote code changes to live systems using a Source Code Management application.

Develop and maintain all backup procedures and records for all property data and systems.

Develop and maintain standards and procedures for system security for all applicable systems to minimize potential exposure/risk.

Ensure that all use of IT resources conform to all Federal and state laws and that all software is legally owned by or licensed to the business.

Maintain all inventory of the IT systems, software, and hardware.

Anticipate future network needs and identify proactive solutions to satisfy needs.

Serves as liaison between business units and IT, communicating technical information and plans.

Provides expert and creative solutions to user problems on laptops and desktop systems to ensure user satisfaction and productivity.

Establish and maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization and training for all systems as needed.

Assist in documentation of standards and methods.

Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

Must complete all required Astronics Training programs within a set time frame.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from accredited institution or equivalent relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.

4 or more years of systems administrator experience.

3-5 years of experience in database management.

Demonstrated competency with SQL Server Database Management

Demonstrated experience in the design, planning and execution of technology infrastructures preferred.

Experience with Data Warehouses, Azure Data Services, Power BI and SSRS administration

Excellent knowledge of database backups, recovery, optimization, and security.

Experience in SQL and PowerShell is required.

Experience in Source Code Management Systems is required.

Experience in change management highly desired.

Experience with implementation of information technology on a departmental and/or corporate level highly desired

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, clients and business partners desired.

Ability and willingness for travel up to 10% of the time, which may include international travel.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Base salary range is $86,430 - $129,645 per year.
