Job Description:
The Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Investment Banking Analyst / Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the equity capital markets, through IPO, Follow-on, Convertible, and Private placement offerings, in coordination with the Investment Banking team. In addition to capital raising exposure, responsibility will include advising and structuring non-capital raising strategic assignments, such as spin-offs and split-offs. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by facilitating capital formation in the equity market.
Responsibilities:
Work with senior Equity Capital Markets (ECM) officers and professionals and participate in client transactions or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team
Work directly with internal partners (Corporate & Investment Banking, Risk, Legal, Operations) as well as external partners (Clients, Investors, External Counsel) in the coordination and execution of a deal from launch to close
Desire and ability to thrive in fast paced, trading floor environment with short deadlines and real-time market interaction
Conduct in-depth economic and statistical analysis on market data such as deal volume, pricing and tenor to detect overall market and industry trends to create deliverables and discussion materials for client meetings
Structure and pitch equity capital markets alternatives based on in-depth analysis of client’s existing financial instruments compared against recent market activity
Prepare materials for pitches and live deals
Evaluate company’s financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
1-4 years of relevant experience
Series 7, 79 and 63 licenses
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree
