Job Description:

- Responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patients.- Meet standards of nursing care and practice according to policies and procedures in conjunction with the healthcare team.- Complete and document patient admission and ongoing assessments as per nursing practice standards.- Formulate, document, and review nursing diagnoses based on assessment data.- Initiate and maintain a plan of care consistent with the medical plan and adjust as necessary.- Evaluate educational needs and implement appropriate teaching plans for patients and families.- Serve as a patient advocate across all areas of care.- Lead and direct other nursing staff, ensuring integrated patient care and appropriate delegation.- Complete orientation programs and required annual education, ensuring professional growth through evidence-based practice.- Demonstrate the ability to care for patients from newborns to geriatrics.- Competent in using the EMR system and administering blood and blood products.- Possess strong knowledge and skills in adult medical, surgical, and cardiac care.- Provide written and verbal education related to disease processes and/or medication.- Display leadership and organizational skills and participate actively in unit improvements.- Attend in-services and educational workshops and complete annual competencies.- Have experience with various IV access types and proficiency in starting IVs.- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to improve performance.- Knowledgeable in pain management and serve as the ultimate responsible party for all patient care, including tasks delegated to LPNs or Nurse Techs.
