Certifications: BLS Certification
Must-Have: EPIC experience
Job Description:
- Protect, promote, and restore health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of the Registered Nurse licensure.- Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide care coordination across the continuum.- Assess and support physical symptoms and provide psychological support to patients, friends, and families.- Mentor assigned team members and promote best practices, maintaining a professional disposition at all times.- Provide direct patient care and documentation in the EMR as required.- Utilize equipment in the unit, including EPIC (Electronic Medical Record), Microsoft applications, and the Pyxis medication system.- Work 12-hour shifts (7a-7p & 7p-7a), including every third weekend and holiday rotation.- Travel RNs may need to float to other departments as needed.- Manage a general med level of care patient ratio of 4-5:1 (days) and 5-6:1 (nights) in an 18-bed unit.- Wear scrubs in any color except pediatric scrubs.- Participate in the unit-specific training and orientation program, including initial onboarding, online learning modules, and one 12-hour shift in orientation.- Comply with the drug-free campus policy by producing a negative drug screen for all panels.
