Job Description:Position PurposePerforms skilled work in the overhaul, repair, and installation of related boilers and water heating burner equipment. This position is considered essential, on-site. Personnel may be required to respond to campus emergencies both during and off shift.Job Qualifications and Competencies:High School Diploma/GEDRI State Pipefitter Journeyperson I license and a PJF Oil license is required2 years specific experience in operation and repair of oil and gas burners and boilersMust possess a valid motor vehicle operator's licenseMust maintain licenses as a condition of employmentMust possess his/her own hand tools.Objective bench test and/or field test may be required.Demonstrable thorough ability, knowledge, and skill regarding:-Oil and gas burner operations related to boilers and water heaters.-Diagnosing burner problems and correcting them expeditiously.-Ability to use a digital combustion analyzer-Following standard procedures, reading and understanding plans, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and specifications.The physical ability to walk throughout the campus and to climb stairs for the duration of the work period.Physically able to lift and carry 50 pounds.The ability to climb and work from ladders, lifts scaffolding, and staging heights up to 100 feetThe ability to successfully complete the Brown University Defensive Driver Training Program and pass the course examMay be required to have the ability to work in areas needing self-contained breathing apparatus or respirator.Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environmentAll offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and pre-employment screenings.
