MHS is seeking a Psychology Resident for the 2025-2026 school year. The Psychology Resident position is a one-year, non-renewable, full-time position designed to provide direct therapeutic services for children & adolescents, to complete assessments for students who present with complex psychological profiles and to co-lead group supervision for the pre-doctoral psychology interns. The Psychology Resident has responsibility for decision making regarding students’ mental health treatment. This includes assessment of suicide risk and/or homicide risk, recommendation to hospitalize a student, and the provision of leadership for the delivery of psychological care. This includes the delivery of effective individual and group clinical services, consultation, crisis intervention, psychological assessment, and staff training.

A Psychology Resident has completed doctoral training and a pre-doctoral internship but requires supervision until licensure exams are passed (this position receives individual supervision for services provided). The Psychology Resident also provides mentorship for the pre-doctoral psychology interns and participates in the Internship Training Committee activities. Furthermore, this position participates in the on-call rotation, which provides emergency psychological services to students on a 24-hr, 7-day-a-week basis year-round. As the psychological climate of the school programs evolves, incumbent provides proactive recommendations and activities to provide for ethical and appropriate psychological treatment to enhance the student’s learning, emotional well-being, and Home Life performance.

Work schedule: This is an on-site, on-year role, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Salary: $64,537.00 - $86,157.00, pay is determined based on experience.


Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Doctoral Degree in counseling, clinical, or school psychology from an APA-approved program.
  • Completion of a pre-doctoral psychology internship.
  • PA School Psychology certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience providing mental health and school psychological services to children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of and experience with psychotherapy, psychological/diagnostic assessment, and professional ethics.
  • Knowledge of and experience with clinical procedures, treatment plan management, and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with students from families of low income and a diverse student population.
  • Must have completed all graduate program requirements prior to the position start date to be eligible.
  • Provide three letters of reference, preferably at the time of application.
