What will you do?
- Responsible to maintain the electronic trip units for MCCB and ACB Circuit Breakers offer.
- Support Global Supply Change Manufacturing Plants in North America. Audit the manufacturing facilities of assigned product family to help ensure product compliance to applicable regulatory standards (e.g. UL, IEC, ANSI)
- Electronics HW design and simulation systems or products to lead engineering project teams and support functions, and to interface with cross functional peers (firmware and systems engineering) for the development of new offers or evolution of existing offers.
- Develop and review solutions for external and internal customers – Support internal and external customer returns analysis.
- Support in the creation of the marketing offer requirements (Product Owners)
- Development of technical product specifications for new product development and evolution projects.
- Electronic Trip Unit Circuit Breaker production line engineering qualification.
- Support the build of electronic trip unit prototypes for testing. Review fixture design.
- Create and review verification and validation test plans including test method and acceptance criteria. Interpretation of test results and other data. Ability to synthesize data into technical communication for effective written and oral presentation to senior management.
- Oversee development of the product definition file: Schematic Capture, PCB & PCBA creation, BOM creation, and development of other specifications. Experience with Cadence tool suit preferred.
- Analyze risks of safety products. Quantify risks and develop mitigations using FMEAs and FTA techniques.
- Understanding of EMC testing and design mitigation techniques.
- Capable with developing, debugging, analyzing and root cause analysis for HW and embedded systems from proof of concept through development, production, and customer support.
- Contribute to development of user documentation such as instruction bulletins, catalogs, safety labels, and product markings.
- Ability to work with 3rd party certification agencies such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL, IEC, ANSI and CCC) to facilitate agency certification.
- Desired analysis skills: Highly creative & inquisitive for design and system optimization. / Strength of component & system analysis / Capable with electronics lab equipment for test and debug / Strong understanding of design for test & reliability in safety products. Use of statistical techniques for analyzing empirical data. Thermal modeling and understanding of magnetics desirable.
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- BS or equivalent expertise in electrical engineering. Master’s or PhD degree or candidate is a plus.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in electronics HW product development.
- AGILE Methodology knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Basic experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI).
- Circuit Breaker design experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of first principles of Physics and Engineering Practice.
- Familiar with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques.
- Travel required ~30%- Travel to NAM GSC Manufacturing Plants.
