Join us as a valued member of a top-performing team.As a Security Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Cyber and Tech Controls line of business, you are part of an agile team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As an emerging member of the security engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical area, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.Job responsibilitiesExecutes standard security solutions in accordance with existing playbooks to satisfy security requirements for internal clients (e.g., product, platform, and application owners)Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceApplies specialized tools (e.g., vulnerability scanner) to analyze and correlate incident data to identify, interpret, and summarize probability and impact of threats when determining specific vulnerabilitiesSupports delivery of continuity-related awareness, training, educational activities, and exercisesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectWorks directly with Operations, Product team, Security Control owners to evaluate the efficacy of tests and increase the velocityDeploys applications in Attack Simulation portfolio (third-party applications) with concise documentationDesigns systems management solutions using automation and self-repair rather than relying on alarming and human interventionReuses existing strategic technologies and prefers appropriately simple, scalable solutions over more complex and failure-prone onesReviews and influences new and evolving design, architecture, standard, and methods for operating services and systemsParticipates in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning, and demand forecastingRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceBasic experience developing security engineering solutionsDemonstrable ability to code in one or more languagesExperience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle as CI/CD, application resiliency, and securityExperience with cloud deployment environments, e.g., AWS, Azure, GCPWorking knowledge of information and network security, IT risk management, and architectural concepts and patternsExperience in Information Security or equivalentWorking experience with OS Experience, e.g., RHEL, WindowsTeam-oriented with great communication and interpersonal skillsDevelopment and Orchestration experience, e.g., Github, Terraform, Ansible, ChefPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsInformation Security related certificationsProgramming/Scripting experience, Python, Perl, Bash, Powershell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQL PlusExperience with developing and using APIs, e.g., Python and REST APIsKnowledgeable across multiple security technologies, e.g., SIEM, NGFW, Proxy, IDS/IPS, DLP, EDR, A/V, WAF
