The following specific duties are anticipated:Instruct on aerospace vehicle performance, flying qualities, systems, and flight test management, including ground and airborne conduct of flight test.Teach curriculum topics to include aircraft flying qualities & flight test techniques, augmented flight control systems, stores testing & structures, limit cycle oscillations & flutter, aircraft departure from controlled flight, military standards evaluations, first flight test & evaluation, avionics integration, and human factors.Serve as FAA certified Flight Instructor for Gliders to teach TPS curriculum sorties.Other duties in-line with MTSI's core value to 'Own and Solve our Customer's Problems.'Projected support is variable and anticipated to be around 1 week per month at Edwards AFB, CA, as required.Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight tests and a reputation of being a team player.Minimum of 5 years' experience Instructing Flight Test Engineering.Ability to obtain FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) within 30 days of hire.Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of flight test missions, briefings, and oversee a team of discipline engineers to support Flight Test Operations.Work well in a team environment as well as independently.Experience generating test plans, flight test mission material, post-mission, and detailed final reports.Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and needs.Desired Qualifications:USAF Test Pilot School GraduateDevelopmental Test experienceCurrent FAA CFIEducation Requirements:Required - Master's degree in a STEM field.Desired - PhD in a STEM field.Travel:Travel is required for this position - Approximately 10-15%Clearance Requirements:Active Secret clearance is required for consideration. TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.U.S. Citizenship is required.The pay range for this position in California is $70.00/hour to $90.00/hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
