The
Senior Software Engineer, SAP APO ABAP
requires in-depth knowledge and experience and is accountable for collaborating with the D&T team in various locations to define, deliver and support IT enabled business solutions for the APO in terms of Demand Planning (DP), SNP and PPDS domain.This role will also help determine business needs and design & deliver technical solutions for these areas. The role handles the delivery of APO systems including project delivery, system configuration and enhancement plus production support in alignment with West D&T and company policies and procedures will be your main focus.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Possesses solid understanding of overall vision and business needs and utilize specialized expertise to collaborate with APO, Planning and Operations to define detailed User Stories for D&T enablement of business needs. This includes interpreting any issues and recommending solutions or best practices.Utilizes knowledge of best practices to help define strategic direction, help determine business needs and design & deliver technical solutions for APO and planning, in partner with Application and Infrastructure.Essential core member of agile sprint team(s) to configure and develop optimal technical solutions/features by using Azure DevOps and JIRA systems.Provide technical delivery of functionality to meet defined business requirements as described in User Stories and Gaps.Provide system support and maintenance in alignment with standards and process set within the ERP Services Delivery model, West policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA GMP.Working closely with APO & Planning integration leads for Global Projects, Incident and Gap management, Month end and monitoring activities in global APO systems.Participation and coordination in Implementation of APO on S4 Hana and PPDS for the global West sites in terms of technical design, configuration, development, testing and UAT & cutover.Create and maintain system lifecycle documents in accordance with West policies and procedures, including creation and maintenance of SOPs, SOIs and Job Aids.Work within and participates in the ERP Change Control process.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or Information Systems.Minimum 5-8 years of related work experience, i.e. 3 or more full implementations of SAP PM solutions.Preferred but not required: Agile & Scrum Certification, ITIL.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Solid SAP APO, DP, SNP skills – system functionality and technical understanding of APO and related areas.Must be up to date on latest ERP release.Must be experienced in SAP APO DP and SNP.Extensive knowledge of ABAP development workbench, Dictionary, Workflows, Adobe forms, SAP Forms, BAPI's, Enhancement Framework, RFC’s, BADI’s, IDOC, ALE and ABAP OBJECTS, IDoc Queue handling, ABAP Proxy Framework, Change document framework, Conversions and Data load methods, SPAU, SPDD and post upgrade activities, Open-SQL performance tuning.Strong S4 HANA and PPDS knowledge preferred.Ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.Able to always comply with the company’s safety and quality policy.
