Senior Human Resources (HR) Business Partner

( hybrid role ) to join the Corporate HR team located in Houston, TX.

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to fill a critical HR Business Partner role in the Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas. This position is a hybrid position and should normally work in the office for three (3) days a week. This key position reports to the Vice President of HR and requires direct HR support to assigned functional organizations, providing expert HR guidance to management and employees, conducting and managing moderate investigation and work with other senior members on complex cases, and managing other performance-related issues. This position will also be significantly involved in contributing to technical projects that enhance our HR systems and workflows, as well as operating as the key contact for all HR functions for the organizations in which this position serves. Your efforts will align with legal, industry, and Barrios' best practices, and will play a vital part in supporting our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

Serve as the key interface for Executive and line management for assigned organizations and act as the expert HR contact for employees in those groups. Work with HR process owners to quickly resolve issues for both management and employee base. Build and maintain robust relationships with internal stakeholders to promote positive employee relations and high engagement levels.

Conduct detailed investigations into employee relations concerns such as harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace violence, adhering to all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Serve as an engaged member of the HR team and collaborate with HR leaders to ensure thorough investigations and prompt, effective resolutions.

Manage performance-based casework, aligning closely with our Performance Management process.

Provide clear, timely communication regarding investigations, offering comprehensive reports with supporting documentation.

Develop, update, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, conducting training sessions as necessary.

Analyze trends in employee relations with leadership to devise initiative-taking strategies, solutions, programs, and policies.

Lead and contribute to projects, particularly those that involve enhancing HR system functionalities and user experience, partnering with other HR team members.

Perform other duties as required.

QualificationsRequired Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and twelve (12) years of direct experience in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions.

Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws that govern employment policies and practices.

Established expertise in conflict resolution and internal client support, complemented by leadership in technical projects across teams.

Proven experience/knowledge of all areas of HR (Staffing, Recruitment, HRIS, Employee Relations, Compensation, and Benefits) in order to provide comprehensive advice and counsel.

Thorough experience working within HRIS systems and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Location:

Ideally, you will be located in the Houston - Clear Lake, TX area. Your hybrid reliable work schedule would require three days in office. Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
