$10,000 Sign On Bonus! *********Position Summary:Under general supervision, uses knowledge of concepts related to respiratory care to evaluate and recommend appropriate treatment for patients with cardiopulmonary compromise. Demonstrates competency in setting up, operating, delivering, and discontinuing medical gas therapy, humidity therapy, aerosol therapy, hyperinflation therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, emergency care/resuscitation, and airway management to patients with cardiopulmonary complications. Builds relationships with other members of the healthcare team and participates in the realization of each patient's multidisciplinary plan of care. Other duties assigned.Education/Experience:Associates Degree in Respiratory Care from a (COARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care from a (COARC) accredited Respiratory Therapy Program preferred.Required Licensure, Certification:Registered Respiratory Therapist (R.R.T.) is required of all new hires. All credentials must be maintained with active status. A.C.L.S. preferred.CPR Certification and B.L.S. required.Work Experience:Advanced Registered Respiratory Therapist level with 3 or more years of experience with demonstrated and documented competency in clinical and operational systems in a comparable RCS division.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must possess sufficient knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and its relation to the practice of respiratory care. Must demonstrate proficiency in the application of theoretical principles to the initiation, maintenance, and discontinuation of all respiratory care modalities and related equipment as gained in a COARC approved respiratory care program. Requires the aptitude to be trained and the knowledge to apply all equipment and therapeutic modalities used in respiratory care.Must be competent in the ability to analyze and interpret physician orders, perform therapy and communicate outcomes of treatment to the physician and health care team members. Applies respiratory care modalities to patients consistent with JHH practice along with hospital approved techniques of infection control. Learns and develops organizational skills that allow the individual to map out and provide clinical care within their area of responsibility. In age specific populations, must be familiar with particular patient populations to which they are assigned.Salary Range: Minimum 35.93 per hour - Maximum 59.32 per hour.
