Robb Report is seeking a
Creative Director
to oversee the look and feel of multiple editorial properties, including the monthly magazine, editorial print supplements, web, video and social, as well as event branding, marketing materials and more. This senior leadership role requires an experienced manager and a proven thought-leader in design, structure and digital and print storytelling. Strong ideation and hands-on design skills are a must.
The Creative Director will be comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while balancing various creative executions across different verticals, from travel and art to style and real estate. They will have a portfolio of original design concepts and be able to execute award-winning photography and videography.
This role is based in New York and reports to the editor in chief, but it requires close collaboration with the deputy editor and digital director, as well as category editors and the broader team.
Requirements:
Minimum 8 years of graphic design experience at a publishing, agency, or media company
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate editorial concepts and ideas.
Demonstrable expertise in print and digital design and eagerness to collaborate in ideation.
Strong attention to detail and love of cutting-edge typography, design, illustration and photography
Detailed knowledge of pre-press requirements for print: manufacturing process, proofing, and color correction
Experience producing and directing photoshoots
The ability to lead, nurture and develop the art department—art director, photo director and designer.
A strong network of industry connections with illustrators, designers and photographers
Manage budget and allocate spending for freelance, illustrations and photography
Deep interest in luxury brands, experiences, trends and business
Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Typical wage range: $170k - $200k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.
