Responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Vantage-One based applications that are delivered within scope, with high quality, on time, and within budget.

Work closely with business partners and technology team members to understand business requirements, perform analysis, and design quality technical solutions that comply with the organization's architectural standards. Provide technical guidance to the development team through the full software life cycle.Key ResponsibilitiesPlanningWork in partnership with the project team and business to fully understand project goals and requirements and use this knowledge to effectively plan and execute code review processes to ensure development work adheres to standards and specifications. Actively participate in conducting peer reviews and external code reviews.Design & BuildCreate low-level design documents (including code samples/outlines) and detailed engineering specifications based on complex business, user, and non-functional requirements. Write code adhering to coding standards, procedures, and techniques. Maintain the integrity of existing program logic according to specifications and complete project deliverables using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Conduct design reviews and define and develop unit test plans.DocumentWrite and/or revise system design documentation and operations documentation, providing input into operation support manuals and user guides. Create and properly archive all project/technical documentation.Test & ExecuteUnit test all code and programs prior to releasing them to quality assurance. Quickly resolve all unit test issues. Assist quality assurance in identifying test cases and creating test data to enable thorough testing of all development deliverables. Provide implementation/production support as required.Asset Stewardship & TroubleshootingImprove the health of system assets by identifying enhancements to improve performance, reliability, and resource consumption.Maintain Skill Set & RelationshipsMaintain up-to-date business domain knowledge and technical skills in software development technologies and methodologies. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business partners and project teams.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.4-7 years of relevant experience.Experience coding and/or designing on Mainframe COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS.Experience working on MF tools like File Manager, Debugger, JOBTRAC, Changeman, etc. Expertise on MF JCL utilities like SORT, MERGE, IDCAMS, etc.Proven ability to successfully translate client/business needs into software designs.Individual contributor with strong communication skills.Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with teams across the organization.Flexibility in timings for installs and secondary production support.Preferred QualificationsFamiliar with MF modernization tools like IDZ, TTT (TOPAZ), etc.Hands-on experience working with Insurance or Annuity products and policy admin systems such as DXC Vantage-One.Proficiency with related software tools including but not limited to JIRA.Understand and apply both current technical solution elements (specific tools, components, and frameworks) and abstract elements (algorithms and architectures).Effectively applies technology/engineering knowledge-base to multiple and evolving programs and languages.About Our CompanyAmeriprise India LLP has been providing client-based financial solutions to help clients plan and achieve their financial objectives for 125 years.
