Position:
Vice President/ Chief Advancement Officer
Reports to:
President/CEO
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute annual and long-range plans to ensure continued growth in fundraising, marketing, and community awareness. The position will work with the CEO and development staff to strengthen the Food Bank's market presence, maintain existing and develop new sources of revenue. This position is part of the senior management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of fundraising and development.
Oversee all aspects of marketing and communication.
Work directly with President/CEO to establish long-range goals and objectives for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, providing leadership and strategic vision in all areas associated with fundraising, development, and marketing.
Lead direct reports in fulfillment of their respective job responsibilities including but not limited to: major gifts, corporate giving, establishing a planned giving program, direct mail, event marketing; donor research tracking and recognition; direct research and preparation of grants including necessary reporting of fulfillment.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience:
Commitment to understanding and supporting the NWAFB mission including but not limited to showing compassion to the hungry.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education.
Three to five years' experience in a development role for a non-profit organization, including two years supervisory experience.
Proven track record in developing and executing a comprehensive development plan.
Extensive experience in managing a grant program.
Experience in a capital campaign.
Knowledge of marketing, public relations, and social media.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong organization skills.
Success in leading and motivating employees.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Job Specifications:
The physical demands of this position include sitting, frequent telephone and computer use.
