As a member of the System Performance software team, you will play a central role in debugging a complex software and hardware stack, reverse engineering the system as needed, and driving forward NextSilicon's software requirements and KPIs. You will be at the forefront of performance efforts within the organization, identifying unexpected bottlenecks and demonstrating creative, hands-on problem solving capabilities. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in software engineeringIn-depth understanding of operating system internalsExperience with inter-process communication (IPC) and multi-threaded programmingStrong problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze and debug complex issuesExperience working in an embedded Linux environment — an advantageDeep knowledge of processor architectures, such as CPUs (x86, ARM, RISC-V), GPUs, DSPs, or TPUs — an advantageFamiliarity with and enthusiasm for any of the following areas: machine learning, compilers, parallel programming, high-performance and massively parallel systems, processor and computer architecture—an advantageResponsibilities
Profile and optimize complex software and hardware systems, identifying bottlenecks and developing creative solutions to overcome themTake a hands-on approach to solving software bugs on a novel hardware architectureDrive the development of high-complexity software features, including defining KPIs and delivery criteriaInfluence the development of hardware features for next-generation architecturesNextSilicon is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
