NOTE: Must use MM/DD/YYYY date format for experience on resume.The Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate seeks to fill the role of Branch Chief in the Information Systems Division, Resilient Synchronized Systems branch (AFRL/RISB) in Rome, NY.Position duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible for the planning, direction, and management of research and development of innovative technologies and systems, spanning basic research to advanced development.Lead the discovery, development, prototyping, and integration of innovative complex adaptive systems technologies.Prepare and present detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects.Transition capability to the operational forces through the appropriate System Program Office (SPO).Assign work to employees and exercise authority in assessing contributions.Participate in the classification of positions within the branch.Travel is a requirement of the position.Telework: Yes, this position is eligible for telework opportunities; as determined by agency policy.Remote Work (CONUS): No, this position is not approved for remote work.Required QualificationsUnited States Citizenship.Males must be registered for Selective Service, see
www.sss.gov .Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance.This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.Must possess a professional science or engineering (S&E) degree from an accredited academic institution.Eligibility: Candidates with 1 year of specialized experience equal to the DR-II, or equivalent in other pay systems, can qualify as a DR-III; candidates with 1 year of specialized experience equal to the DR-III, or equivalent in other pay systems, can qualify for the DR-IV, but may be appointed as a DR-III or DR-IV. Specialized Experience is experience directly related to the position that was performed at a level equivalent to the grade directly below the position.This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering and Technical Management (ETM). The employee must meet or be capable of meeting Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.Desired QualificationsOutstanding leadership and people skills.Demonstrated abilities to lead teams, build consensus, and resolve conflicts/problems.The ability to identify and solve problems for the workforce.The ability to teach the workforce how to be leaders, technical experts, and project managers.Passion for developing innovative approaches and solutions.The ability to deal with complex, non-standard situations and environments.The ability to motivate, develop, and grow technical teams.The ability to work and lead others in a fast-paced environment.The ability to support and enable organizational program, mission, and vision.(Req.
