if you feel that you have what it takes!District Attorney Investigators perform a wide variety of investigations of alleged or suspected violations of criminal and civil laws. Incumbents are sworn peace officers with law enforcement duties. District Attorney Investigator II is the first working-level class of the series. Under general supervision, incumbents perform progressively more responsible criminal and civil investigations.

Education and Experience

Possession of a valid and current California Regular Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate* at the time of application; ANDOne (1) year of experience as a District Attorney Investigator I with the County of San Diego; ORThree (3) years of recent experience as a peace officer working for a Federal, State or local law enforcement agency, one (1) year of which must have been conducting full-time, comprehensive, and complex criminal investigations.NOTE:

No level of California POST Specialized Certificate can be substituted for the California POST Basic Certificate.Recent work experience is defined as work experience within the past five (5) years.*District Attorney Investigator II can earn a premium, in addition to the annual base salary, for valid advanced California P.O.S.T certifications.Peace Officer Provisions

Appointees are "Peace Officers" as defined in Section 830.1 of the California Penal Code for the purpose of carrying out the duties of their employment, and as such will be required to qualify and carry an office issued, or office approved, firearm and other office approved safety equipment.Certification

Possession of a valid and current California Regular Basic P.O.S.T Certificate at the time of application.Completion of POST Investigation and Trial Preparation Course consistent with P.O.S.T. and Statutory requirements.

Appointees enter the County Retirement System as a Safety Member and are not covered under Social Security.EvaluationQualified applicants will be placed on a

eight (8) month
