The Academy of Disaster Preparedness is currently seeking Student Office of Event Management (OEM) Interns to assist with research and plan development for standard operating procedures to be incorporated into projects evolving federal, state and local agencies. Interns will work under the close supervision of the Academy. In addition, interns will be expected to produce a project timeline to document progress on their specific tasks. Individuals must be enrolled in the Masters of Disaster Management program.The Intern will interact with all staff and interns at all levels and among different bureaus within the Office of Event Management (OEM) on project assignments including:Development of a schedule and work plan while working with each agency.Coordinating with partner agencies to achieve project goals.Researching and cataloguing findings.Write briefing memos and proposals.Additional responsibilities as required.Minimum Qualifications
Excellent project management skills.Excellent writing and communications skills.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to work well individually and in group settings.Ability to work under deadline.Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.Interest in emergency management and public service.Basic understanding of government.Minimum availability is at least 20 hours/week.Job Category
