Cloud Infrastructure EngineerThe IS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II will take on increased responsibility for managing, deploying, and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure solutions that align with the organization’s business strategies. This mid-level role will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimization and automation while maintaining a strong focus on security. Additionally, the IS Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II will implement cloud infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible code following corporate policies and best practices in DevOps. The responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex issues, leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring compliance with security policies.This is a remote position for candidates residing in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Montana, or Wisconsin.Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities

Security Design and Development:Design, deploy and maintain Terraform code to create and support complete cloud infrastructure systems and advanced Azure services.Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex infrastructure solutions that meet business needs.Design and maintain DevOps pipelines to automate the deployment and testing of infrastructure as code.Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on infrastructure projects.Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code modules and libraries to promote code reuse and standardization.Lead and mentor junior team members in Terraform coding and DevOps pipeline development.Provide advanced cloud technology knowledge to the company. Participate in and consult on complex projects.Advise other IS teams on best practices for compute design.Systems Administration and Operations:Investigate and diagnose moderately advanced issues with cloud infrastructure resources and services, including application and network performance issues, Web Application Firewalls, and cloud network resources.Collaborate with other teams, such as Developers, Analysts and ServiceDesk, to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Configure and maintain virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking resources in the cloud.Implement solutions to monitor the health and performance of cloud infrastructure resources, including availability and capacity, and proactively identify and resolve any issues.Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.Maintain security controls and policies to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data in the cloud.Monitor and report on compliance with security and regulatory requirements and proactively remediate issues.Lead team activities for security incident response and remediation.Participate in the selection and design of automation and scripting tools to improve efficiency and consistency of system administration tasks.Produce and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure resources, configurations, and procedures.Peer review of documentation created by junior engineering staff.Standards and Policy Administration:Continuously improve infrastructure processes and tools to increase efficiency and minimize errors.Conduct peer reviews and testing to ensure the quality and consistency of infrastructure code and deployments.Ensure compliance with industry regulations, as well as internal security policies, standards, and guidelines by implementing advanced security controls and practices, such as Azure Firewall and Azure Key Vault.Collaborate with others to determine requirements and standards for compute technology selection and deployment.Regularly review existing systems to ensure they comply with established standards and support business operations.Develop and maintain compute policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies, standards, and guidelines.Vendor Coordination and Relations:Conduct product and vendor research, and present recommendations to senior engineer and/or management.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and related equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services.Maintain service contracts and licensing; monitor adherence to SLAs with outside parties; escalate issues as needed.Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years’ experience delivering systems solutions and related services, including at least 2 years supporting mission-critical cloud infrastructure.Experience should cover most of the following areas:Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies (preferred: Terraform).Cloud orchestration platforms for automation and management of IS operations in both private and public cloud infrastructure (preferred: RedHat Ansible).Source code management tools and methodologies.Coding or scripting (preferred: PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI).DevOps pipelines, including CI/CD cycles.DevOps tools (preferred: Visual Studio, VSCode).Cloud storage services and options.Delivery of virtualized applications.Data protection and retention.Microsoft and Linux operating systems, core services, and management tools.Development of compute infrastructure that balances performance, management, and cost objectives.Knowledge of ITIL concepts and practices.Preferred

Experience with both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.Experience migrating on-prem infrastructure to the cloud.Background as a System Administrator, System Engineer, or in a similar role.Managing 100+ servers in the cloud.Additional experience in technology support and/or operational roles.Compensation:

$121k – $149k, plus a 5% annual bonus (DOE)Benefits
