Energy Efficiency Outreach Lead

Chicago, IL . We are currently seeking a proactive and self-starting Energy Efficiency Outreach Lead to work in the Chicagoland market. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and conducting service provider and customer outreach activities for utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs. This position will be responsible for selling and promoting utility sponsored energy efficiency program concepts, offerings and benefits to large utility customers, property managers, contractors, other utility program implementers and A&E firms (collectively known as the service provider network) as well as city and local organizations in the service territory in support of the efficiency programs. This position will also be responsible for client management specific to outreach activities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIdentify potential projects and recruit buildings for retro-commissioning programs.Deliver effective sales presentations and respond to questions and inquiries from industry professionals in an accurate and timely manner.Network and partner with trade allies, utility representatives, account managers, key industry contacts and end users to identify potential projects and opportunities.Be a key resource for trade allies who leverage the utility programs to promote and sell energy efficiency to commercial customers.Utilize an understanding of business operation costs associated with operating and maintaining facilities in order to develop and propose energy efficiency projects.Conduct training seminars to educate stakeholders on utility program logistics, technologies and new developments in the marketplace.Conduct market research to identify and target high potential customers.Develop and maintain individual and team strategies for reaching sales, program targets and other business related objectives.Establish and maintain a professional client rapport, including identifying and anticipating client needs and proposing solutions.Maintain an active project pipeline to assure goals and objectives are consistently met.Promptly and accurately address client concerns to assure problem resolution and promote long-term productive relationships.Communicate and coordinate project activities with utility representatives, end-users and other stakeholders, as needed.Consistently meet or exceed program expectations related to sales, marketing, communication, client satisfaction and other key performance indicators.Work closely and collaboratively with other program staff (program management, engineering, marketing, etc.) to achieve client goals.Other job duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree required (BA or BS), preferably in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering or related field.Four or more years’ experience in outreach, sales, account management, business management or project management.Two or more years’ experience in the energy efficiency or renewables industry a plus.Background in marketing and communications for technical-based, engineering companies and/or knowledge of energy efficiency programs a plus.An understanding of building energy systems (HVAC, lighting, and hot water) a plus.Experience and aptitude with working in team environment, as well as independently without direct supervision.Strategic thinking and leadership skills.Ability to perform multiple simultaneous tasks under pressure.Exceptional planning, organization and self-management skills in a professional environment a must.Ability to communicate, counsel, and sell concepts at all levels of an organization.Strong attention to detail and follow-through in a fast pace environment.Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to deliver on deadlines, and manage a high-volume workload.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; work well with other functional groups, and communicate effectively with all levels of the company and external business partners.Strong consensus-building skills.Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and creative.Strong analytical and organizational skills along with the ability to manage multiple, time-dependent tasks.Must have strong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.Obtain and maintain a driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on candidate's qualifications.
