Job Description:
HPE is looking for a Principal System Test Engineer with a solid understanding of complex, large-scale systems to join the Slingshot Quality Assurance Team to help integrate and test solutions for the HPE High-Performance Ethernet Fabric with the Linux OS, Storage, and Management systems. Join the Slingshot Ethernet Fabric team, part of HPE's HPC and AI organization, and immerse yourself in the world of cutting-edge technology, significantly impacting the high-performance fabric business.
How You'll Make Your Mark:
Write and execute complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portions of application/subsystems; identify, debug and create solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
The System Testing includes:
NCCL/RCCL testing
RDMA and TCP/IP Performance
LST survey
MPI stress load
SHMEM
Libfabric
InfiniBand, Ethernet Drivers
OSU Benchmark
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities with systems design and development guidelines and standards.
Provides domain-specific expertise, overall software systems leadership, and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
Assesses design and recommends coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general goals and knowledge of the product or solution's overall architecture.
Work closely with development teams to ensure product quality and seamless integration with the other Linux OS and Management subsystem/components.
Collaborates with management and internal and outsourced development partners regarding firmware design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability and takes initiatives to enhance product quality continuously.
Participates in quality initiatives- assesses customer cases, spots trends to come up with improvements, and assists in developing adequate customer documentation (RN, Advisories, etc.).
Ability to drive fast-paced projects forward on one's own and in a team environment.
Able to work in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Collaborates and communicates with management and internal and outsourced partners regarding project status, progress, and problem resolution.
About You:
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically, 8-14 years experience.
Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages.
NCCL/RCCL, MPI including OSU Benchmark, RDMA, TCP/IP, SHMEM, Libfabric, InfiniBand, and Ethernet Drivers.
Excellent assessment and problem-solving skills.
Experience in the overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into the overall architecture.
Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and executing test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery of English and local language.
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
Strong C programming experience in a Linux environment.
Linux Systems Programming.
Python programming experience.
Knowledge of networking protocols, Security features, and embedded protocols.
Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
