Overview:We are seeking a skilled Strategic IT Sourcing Specialist to join our procurement team, which manages annual IT procurement activities with a budget of approximately one billion dollars. This role is critical to supporting a team engaged in high-volume contract renewals, licensing inquiries, and the issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for global sourcing requirements. The ideal candidate will have expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and IT procurement best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance, and budgetary constraints. This role involves educating stakeholders on IT contract essentials and serving as a liaison between procurement and legal to drive efficient contracting processes.
Responsibilities:
Contract Negotiation and Redlining: Engage in contract negotiations with a focus on redlining IT contracts to secure favorable terms that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
Market Analysis and Trend Advising: Analyze market trends related to IT procurement and identify their impact on the organization, advising stakeholders on potential solutions and approaches to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities in contract negotiations.
Stakeholder Education: Educate internal stakeholders on IT contract fundamentals, including compliance, best practices, and management of IT assets and services.
Contract Compliance: Execute and oversee the company’s IT contracting process, ensuring compliance with internal standards, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in redlining IT contracts with demonstrated ability to assess terms and mitigate risk effectively.
Strong understanding of IT products, including software, hardware, and IT services.
3+ years of experience in negotiating IT contract pricing with vendors and utilizing market insights to optimize contract outcomes.
Experience in building effective partnerships with key stakeholders such as legal, finance, and IT, without the need for paralegal qualifications.
Proven track record of managing multiple contracts at various lifecycle stages, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders, particularly legal.
3-4 years of experience in IT contracts with an emphasis on security and data protection.
Knowledge of data privacy and security requirements in an IT contracting context.
Familiarity with budget rationalization for IT projects.
Excellent communication and analytical skills for explaining complex contract terms and processes clearly to internal teams.
