What you’ll do:Position Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, Global Communications who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing all aspects of the company's global communications strategy. This includes overseeing internal and external communications, media and public relations, crisis management, brand messaging, and the development of a large globally distributed professional communications team. The role will partner with executive leadership teams to ensure that the company's communications align with its strategic goals and to enhance its reputation globally.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications:Develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy that supports the company's business objectives and enhances its reputation aligned with organizational values and culture.Oversee the creation and execution of high-quality content for various communication channels including speeches, articles, social media posts, and messages.Enable effective communication within the organization, including employee engagement, newsletters, and town halls, and the strategy for effective communication vehicles including digital, mobile, web, and signage.Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
Media and Public Relations:Develop and deliver public relations strategies and investor communications to result in a best-in-class function.Manage relationships with media outlets and serve as the primary spokesperson for the company.Develop and maintain a positive public image for the company.Handle media inquiries and arrange interviews, press conferences, and other media events.
Crisis Management:Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate reputational risks while maintaining transparency during crises.Serve as the lead communicator during crises, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to stakeholders.Coordinate with legal and other departments to manage crisis situations effectively.
Brand Management:Shape the organization’s brand image with consistent messaging, brand positioning, and reputation management.Ensure that all communications reflect the company's brand values and enhance its reputation.Work with marketing and other departments to ensure brand consistency across all channels.
Leadership and Team Management:Lead and manage the global communications team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.Manage the communications budget and allocate resources effectively.Measure the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in designing and leading successful total communications strategy and function for large, multi-national organizations.
Strong understanding of global communications strategies and the ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts.
Proven experience in change management, including developing and implementing change management strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.
High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to improve communication strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing communications for a global multi-national manufacturing organization, including understanding of diverse cultural and market dynamics.
Experience in a publicly traded company.
In-depth knowledge of the various industries and markets in which the company operates, with a strong understanding of market trends and competitive landscape.
Experience in leading communication efforts during organizational changes, mergers, acquisitions, or other significant transformations.
