Job Requirements: The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology to lead our team of pediatric anesthesiology faculty at UNC's flagship Children’s Hospital. Our pediatric anesthesiology practice includes all sub-specialties and spans the spectrum from healthy outpatients to complex neonatal surgery. UNC Children’s Hospital is a major regional referral center with pediatric ICU, neonatal ICU, pediatric ECMO, cardiac, burn, trauma, pain, sedation, solid organ and bone marrow transplantation programs.
Job Description: The Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology oversees a complex, multi-site division with diverse clinical programs. Key responsibilities include overseeing personnel, managing clinical operations, and leading the division in achieving the institutional tripartite mission of excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
The Division Chief reports to the Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and works closely with the other Departmental Division Chiefs and Departmental Vice Chairs.
The Division Chief will work closely with pediatric section chiefs and program directors to oversee the clinical, quality, research, and educational activities of the Division. He or she will also lead recruiting efforts in the Division, provide career development and mentoring for all Division faculty and fellows, and conduct annual performance reviews for Division faculty.
