Associate, Community Fundraising
to strengthen and grow relationships with businesses and corporations that support our mission. This full-time exempt position will play a vital role in securing support from key industries, including small businesses, sports, and restaurants, while driving innovative fundraising and engagement initiatives that directly impact WCK’s global mission. The role is essential in building a robust, mission-aligned fundraising ecosystem through strategic partnerships and creative campaigns. As part of the Development team, the successful candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and possess a proven ability to build and nurture relationships with external audiences. This role requires a sincere commitment to WCK’s mission, with at least one to three years of experience working with donors or in a similar fundraising or partnership-building role. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to travel occasionally and have the flexibility to support WCK’s efforts across multiple time zones, including during nights, holidays, and weekends when necessary. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Washington, DC, and requires a minimum of two days on-site per week. Key Responsibilities: Develop and nurture strong, lasting relationships with small businesses (e.g., restaurants, artisan shops, food product companies), enabling them to champion WCK through creative fundraising initiatives. Foster dynamic partnerships with athletes, sports teams, and facilities across the globe, driving engagement and fundraising opportunities. Lead innovative engagement initiatives like WCK's Restaurant Week and other creative campaigns, boosting business and community involvement. Identify and cultivate new business and sector relationships, leveraging key industries and partners to support WCK through collaborative fundraising campaigns, and innovative engagement strategies. Provide small business partners with clear, effective fundraising tools (toolkits, decks, templates) to empower their engagement through point-of-sale donations, event-driven campaigns, and unique customer experiences. Nurture and grow these important relationships year-round, with a focused approach during key moments of activation. Respond swiftly and professionally to inquiries and requests, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Track and manage small business opportunities and engagement within WCK’s donor CRM (Salesforce) for optimal relationship-building and reporting. 1-3 years of experience in a similar donor-supporting role. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Good customer service and communication skills; ability to interact with donors, volunteers, and other constituents in-person, by phone, and in writing. Previous experience working within CRM, ideally with Salesforce. Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can easily pivot to disaster response mode when needed. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines. Must have a valid passport for international travel. Preferred Candidates
will have fluency in another language and have international experience.
