In this key role, you will utilize your expertise in computational biology and machine learning to develop advanced models for vaccine and therapeutic applications.As Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in leveraging and designing novel methodologies, algorithms, frameworks, and tools that enable more sophisticated and effective solutions to accelerate advancement in vaccines and medicine discovery. A strong foundation in computational biology and software engineering, along with a proven ability to manage large-scale datasets and apply learning algorithms to solve biological challenges, is essential for success in this position.If you are passionate about turning complex biological data into actionable insights and want to make a meaningful impact in people's lives, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey.Your Responsibility:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, immunologists, and epidemiologists, to plan and strategize updates for vaccine composition and late-stage clinical studies.Engage with key stakeholders including epidemiologists, clinicians, and software engineers to translate business goals into specific software/machine learning requirements.Design and implement advanced computational models to forecast the seasonality of infectious diseases.Analyze and interpret large biological datasets using machine learning and statistical techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.Integrate experimental data with computational predictions to develop novel predictive algorithms with interactive learning approaches.Conduct sophisticated analyses of large-scale biological datasets to derive insights and facilitate decision making.Identify, curate, and integrate relevant datasets and tools from public and proprietary sources to enrich computational design projects.Contribute to the strategic direction of Digital Virology programs by leveraging data-driven insights to identify opportunities for innovation.Basic Qualifications:PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 5+ years' experience; or an MS in one of these fields with 8+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced environment.Strong background in bioinformatics, algorithm development, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.5+ years' industry experience in designing, developing, and implementing bioinformatics workflows, data analytics, and predictive modeling.3+ years' industry experience with deep learning techniques, including CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders, and transformers/large language models.Documented expertise in programming skills in languages such as R, Python, and hands-on experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.Industry experience in problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to propose creative and efficient solutions for complex challenges.Independent and innovative, with the ability to thrive in a goal-oriented, multifaceted, and fast-paced team environment.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to align product strategies with business needs to support vaccines R&D.Preferred Qualification:Hands-on experience developing predictive models in the healthcare industry.Experience with RNA/protein folding; modeling RNA/protein structures and interactions.Experience and knowledge in in-silico antibody and/or small molecule drug discovery, including developability, prediction, and validation.Proficient with agile software development processes.
