A law firm seeks a highly skilled Trusts and Estate Planning Attorney to join its Coral Gables team. This role is central to the firm’s commitment to helping clients secure their legacy and protect their families. With a focus on sophisticated estate planning and trust administration, the ideal candidate will demonstrate autonomy, meticulous organization, and a client-centered approach.Duties
Draft complex estate and gift tax planning structures, including Family Limited Partnerships, SLATs, ILITs, and charitable trustsPrepare and file federal Form 706 for estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes, coordinating with clients and financial professionalsPrepare and submit Form 709 for gift tax reporting, ensuring correct tax treatment and application of exemptionsReview and interpret estate planning documents, advising clients on trustee powers, beneficiary rights, and tax implications of distributionsAdminister individual and family trusts, including asset management, real estate investments, and compliance with tax requirementsProduce detailed fiduciary accountings, tracking income and disbursements, and deliver account summaries to beneficiariesServe as a lead contact for clients, strategizing estate planning solutions and guiding them through complex legal processesOversee staff involved in client administration and document preparationRequirements
Experience : Substantial experience in advanced estate planning, asset protection, and trust administrationTechnical Skills : Competent in drafting software (e.g., WealthDocs) and client management software (e.g., Clio)Independence : Ability to work confidently and autonomously in a specialized legal environmentClient Communication : Skilled in providing high-quality service and direct client communicationLanguage Skills : Bilingual in English and Spanish preferredEducation
Degree : Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolCertifications
Bar Admission : Licensed to practice law in the state of FloridaSkills
