Your Role and ResponsibilitiesThe AIX Admin is an intermediate-level position responsible for providing day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support for the organization's AIX-based systems and infrastructure. This role works closely with senior administrators and cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, performance, and security of the AIX environment. You will need to visit the domestic client's offices/data centers on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.
Responsibilities:Perform routine administration tasks for AIX servers, including monitoring, patching, backups, and user management.Troubleshoot and resolve AIX-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior administrators.Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of AIX operating systems, applications, and middleware.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (storage, network, virtualization) to support AIX infrastructure requirements.Participate in the implementation and testing of AIX system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for AIX systems and processes.Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise5-8 years of experience in AIX administration and support roles.Solid understanding of AIX operating system, Power HA, Virtualization, logical volume management, file systems, and administration tools.Proficiency in AIX command line interface and scripting languages.Knowledge of storage technologies, backup/recovery solutions, and virtualization technologies (LPAR, VIOS).Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Excellent communication abilities and teamwork.
Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseRequired Education: BE / B. Tech Computer Science, MCA or Equivalent / higher Qualification.You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies.Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with a creative approach to work.Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management.Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
