Position descriptionSUMMARY OF ORGANIZATION/UNITUCLA's Teacher Education Program (TEP) prepares aspiring teachers to become social justice educators in urban settings. We are designed for future educators who want to serve in underserved communities and schools in California, and Los Angeles in particular.SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Department of Education at UCLA seeks applications for part-time Supervisor of Teacher Education to conduct fieldwork supervision within the TEP graduate program. UCLA TEP offers several pathways that culminate in a teaching credential and a Master of Education degree. We are guided by an anti-racist and social justice agenda in our commitment, partnerships, and coursework.The Supervisor of Teacher Education position will work with Multiple Subject and Education Specialist teacher candidates, work closely with TEP Faculty Advisor/s, school personnel, and a team of students in TEP; mentor student teachers as they engage in learning to teach in designated schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Conduct formal and informal observations of student teaching; attend TEP seminars and lead seminar discussions; and assist TEP Faculty Advisor(s) in developing relationships with partnership districts and schools.The Supervisor of Teacher Education may also be assigned additional duties according to the instructional needs in the department and in conformity with departmental lecturer workload policies.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS* A MA degree in Education in requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Doctorate degree in Education is highly preferred.SALARY RANGEThe posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment.
