IT Platform Engineer
to join Zions Bancorporation. The
IT Platform Engineer
plays a key role in analyzing test data environments, securing data within those environments, and virtualizing databases to ensure an optimal testing strategy. Your expertise will be crucial in protecting sensitive data through advanced data obfuscation techniques, ensuring data privacy and security. This position will be a key technical contributor in the implementation, adoption, management, extension, automation, and overall success of an investment in test data technology within our engineering ecosystem.This position requires leveraging skills in automation and building scalable infrastructure to support robust testing environments. You will collaborate closely with application development teams to help them transition to a more resilient testing strategy by virtualizing data, enabling more optimal and quicker testing processes.The
IT Platform Engineer
will:Contribute to the enterprise-wide adoption of and migration to Delphix to virtualize and mask data across all required enterprise databases.Partner closely with application owners, database administrators, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders across the organization to ensure the mutual success of data protection in non-production environments.Contribute to process flow design for adoption, implementation, and consumer support of Test Data as a Service (TDaaS).Contribute to implementation, engineering, and enterprise-wide adoption of other automated test data provider tools and solutions for the SDLC.Contribute to designing and testing individual solutions and adoptions per scenario, including step solutions or all-at-once for complex enterprise with many inter-related/inter-dependent data sources.Contribute to automated process creation and management designs including integrations with other systems, data catalogs, data testing, tracking, notification and logging tools.Ensure consistent application of enterprise data masking standards and policies to all applicable fields.Contribute to system and service updates, uptime, and maintenance.Become a subject matter expert on the TDaaS platforms, tools, services and their features, configuration and solution designs.Work effectively with application customer teams on a personal and technical level to ensure mutual success.Work effectively with solution partners like Data, Information Security, and Software Engineering to ensure mutually successful goals, solutions, and processes.Qualifications4+ years of experience in engineering and providing automated tooling for engineering or development environments.3+ years of experience working with database and data solutions.Strong experience in one or more automation scripting languages. Python is preferred, but Bash or PowerShell is also acceptable.Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques.Strong technical writing and documentation skills.Solution-oriented thinking with a customer service mindset.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Administration, Business Systems Administration or other related field. A combination of education may meet qualifications.Experience scripting, querying, and writing in SQL.Experience coding with API calls utilizing JSON.Experience with RunDeck by PagerDuty.Understanding of relational databases.Experience with software version control tools (ex: git).Previous experience with data virtualization, data masking, obfuscation, or synthetic data.Experience with containerized infrastructure.Experience with and/or understanding of Agile principles.Location:This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus will be the company’s primary technology and operations center. This modern and environmentally friendly technology center will enable Zions to continue to compete for the best technology talent in the state while providing team members with an exceptional work environment.Pay Range:
