MUFG Bank N.A. is currently recruiting for an Associate Vice President, Middleware Cloud Services Engineer that will be located in Tampa, FL or Jersey City, NJ who will utilize the software development skillsets in a unique way to deliver stable and strategic automation solutions, enabling software capabilities across MUFG Bank N.A.

MUFG Americas is focused on delivering results by utilizing the 5Rs of our strategic plan: Reignite revenue growth, Remediation and risk capabilities, Resetting the technology backbone, Restructuring the team for efficiency and Rebalancing our portfolio.

The API First effort will deliver a world-class API Platform for commercial and transaction banking to enable the bank’s competitive market position. This will serve our customers' best interests by providing an improved product suite, increased financial performance, and it will also eliminate significant legacy platforms.

The Resetting the technology backbone ‘R’ is a multi-year effort that will implement a scalable, secure, compliant, and efficient technology platform; enable the Technology organization to be 'fit for growth' to meet future acquisition, customer growth, and product needs; drive a step-change reduction in technology operating costs; increase speed-to-market; minimize residual risk; and ensure security and compliance.

The Role

The Middleware Cloud Services Engineer will be a hands-on technical engineer that will be accountable for Software development, R & D and operations in support of the Enterprise Integration Platform at MUFG. On this team, you will face a wide array of technical challenges that greatly impact our business. This team works closely across the Cloud Transformation Organization, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Engineering and Operations organizations, in order to deliver next generation capabilities in an operationally stable software defined ecosystem to MUFG and its customers. The role will be responsible for design, evolution, implementation and support of the cloud transformation Enterprise Integration Platform operating across geographically diverse data centers, as well as cloud service providers, empowering our customers with capabilities of highly available, automated and cost-effective platform solutions to address resiliency, performance, portability, security and disaster recovery needs.

The Role will serve as a point of escalation for all operational issues and critical events related to the Enterprise Integration Platform. The position will also need the individual to train the staff, developing standard operating procedures and writing knowledge articles. The Engineer will also be a key contributor to automation roadmap and strategy to improve policy driven automated operations while adhering to the industry best practices and infrastructure-as-code principles.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, a Graduate degree is preferred

Senior level professional industry certifications in WSO2 are desired

A minimum of 5 years of experience with large scale mission critical and production scale platforms at an Enterprise or service provider is required

At least 3 years of heavy duty hands-on experience with WSO2 API Manager

Independent judgment, technical problem solving, analytical and decision-making strength is required.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.

Self-starter with strong teamwork abilities and customer service skills are required.

Experience working in a Scrum methodology including the Atlassian stack (Jira/Confluence) is preferred.

Required Skills:

In depth knowledge of WSO2 API Manager including:

WSO2 API Gateway configuration, setup, etc.

WSO2 Control Plane and its configuration.

WSO2 Traffic Manager, Key Manager configurations, setup policies

Be able to setup mock data and execute performance tests on all of the WSO2 API Manager components. Guides our internal Performance testing team on how to execute load tests.

Experienced in troubleshooting any issues with all the components of WSO2 API Manager

Provides solutions, best practices and suggestions on alternate technologies where applicable to ensure the overall ecosystem is working

Familiar with internals of WSO2 with relation to Persistent storage

Familiarity with data classification as far as where WSO2 stores what kind of data and how to manage it

Expert in WSO2 distributed deployment models and suggests on best practices for data migration/replication/synchronization across Postgres DBs that WSO2 API Manager uses.

Ability to write custom extensions on WSO2 to satisfy technical requirements and also to fit to organizational IAM policy needs.

In depth knowledge of integrating WSO2 and Ping IDP/Ping Federate products

In depth knowledge of OAuth2, various grant types and JWT/OAuth tokens and API Security in general.

In-depth knowledge of OpenTracing. Setting up and configuring tools like Dynatrace for end-to-end API request/response tracing.

Expert in working with WSO2 Micro-Integrator and its deployment

Expert in translating business requirements into orchestrated integrations and transformations in WSO2 Micro-Integrator

Expert in working with OpenShift 4.x and Kubernetes 1.17 or higher

Familiarity with Splunk and its integrations

Be able to mentor and train the current team on all the above technologies

Experience working with SpringBoot, Java, Microservices, Docker, REST, SOAP, Postgres, CI/CD, BitBucket, Azure DevOps

Experience working on AWS services including EC2, S3, EFS and understands how VPC, Security Groups, Availability Zones, etc. work.

Nice to have CRI-O experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is between $107K - $133K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
