Then it seems like you’d make a great addition to our team!We are looking for an Application Engineer - Switchgear / Solutions. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.Our team plays a significant role in business generation of Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit by preparing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals and solutions that best fit our customer needs, while ensuring competitive pricing. The Engineer will work closely with Siemens Sales to prepare offers supporting customers in the Data Centers, Semiconductors, Industrial, Construction, and Utility markets on technical, contractual, and commercial issues.Roles & ResponsibilitiesReviewing Customer documents and identifying the best scope of work suited to the Customer application.Prepare 2D layout drawings, and in some cases 3D drawings utilizing digital tools to demonstrate the concept of the intended solution.Configure the product’s technical attributes using in-house proprietary tools.Prepare RFQ packages and work closely with vendors for third-party products to secure compliant quotations.Complete quote evaluations, put a cost model together, and secure approvals from senior management.Develop Customer proposals and engage in discussions with them in support of the Sales team.Upon winning the project, complete an effective handover to the project execution team.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EPC, engineering, manufacturing, utility, or industrial corporate environment.Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering.Advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for power distribution applications and the best practices.Experience with the design and application of electrical power distribution products and power systems/power delivery.Knowledge of relay P&C schemes, schematics, communication network diagrams.Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.Preferred Qualifications:Preferred 5+ years of experience in the Electrical Power Industry.Knowledge and experience with IBC, NEC, and NFPA codes and standards for E Houses/Buildings.PE/PMP certification is a plus.You’ll benefit from:Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees. here .The pay range for this position is $72,300 - $124,080.
