Application Deadline: 12/30/2024Address: 320 S Canal StreetJob Family Group: Data Analytics & ReportingThis is a hybrid role, based out of Chicago, working within BMO's Operational Non-Financial Risk and Capital Markets division that supports the execution of accurate and efficient reporting solutions for risk, regulatory and management information to internal and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies. Monitors and supports the mitigation of operational risks by deploying methodologies and controls that increase transparency, accuracy and consistency across groups. Works with stakeholders to implement the methodology, metrics and program standards for the assigned portfolio to ensure compliance as well as effective monitoring, timely reporting and identification of action plans. Utilizing their knowledge of PowerBI, Excel and application development they will create packages that will be displayed in SharePoint, or other modalities, which support an efficient and effective risk management function and utilizes common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, increases service level performance, and minimizes risk.This person will need to understand and articulate the business case of business questions and the estimated value being delivered. Design dashboards and analyses to be performed, and appropriate visualization and analytics tools to use. Identifies trends and patterns to address identified business questions and provide insights through reporting and data visualization techniques. Works with other data and analytics, risk, and LOB professionals to optimize, refine, automate and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools.MANDATE:Utilize data analytics which align to help drive strategic risk initiatives and prepare materials for business risk reviews and risk committee meetings.Leads or assists with the maintenance, monitoring, measurement & reporting on the status of the risk reporting strategies performance.Designs, develops, and implements reporting solutions to meet management and regulatory reporting requirements. Builds various reporting dashboards using the most appropriate data extraction, data cleaning and data visualization techniques.Provides value through insights, reporting and data visualization techniques. Selects, configures and implements analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability.Researches and applies continuous improvement in data visualization by identifying trends and patterns to transform raw data into actionable business insights.Analyses data and information to provide risk-related insights and recommendations for the assigned portfolio e.g. ops risk capital, risk profiles, etc.Works with various data owners to discover and select available data sources from internal sources and external vendors (e.g. Business Limit Letters, External Risk/Event Sources, Operational Risk Data Sources, etc.,) to fulfill analytical needs.Ensures strong governance and effective controls across risk reporting activities and information in accordance with enterprise standards.Supports the maintenance, monitoring, and measurement of key risk indicators to internal & external stakeholders, and analyzes data and highlights significant information including variances, trends, opportunities and exposures; escalates as required.Works with different teams, management and stakeholders to enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions deployed in the organization.Translates business needs to technical specifications and evaluates existing data visualization systems in order to improve them.Develops data visualizations of large amounts of data that facilitate the intuitive presentation of data to decision makers.Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes.Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of reporting tools and self-serve analytics by non-analytical end users; may include delivery of training to audiences.Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.Qualifications:Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.5+ years of experience with PowerBI and Excel.5+ years of experience with SharePoint.Is driven and can work on their own with minimal supervision.Will “own” the tasks given to them. Must be able to drive tasks to completion by seeking out help when needed and understanding task deadlines.Is innovative and always seeks out better ways to do things.Is curious about technology and seeks out ways to gather more experience in new areas.Strong troubleshooting/problem solving abilities.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Experience in Financial Service industry and Risk Reporting would be an asset.Salary:

$72,500.00 - $134,500.00Pay Type:

SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
