Alongside driving the activities of your team, you will work closely together with the other managers within the Supplier Operations department to actively contribute to further develop our roadmap and participate in structural improvement projects further optimizing our processes.
Role and responsibilitiesYou are responsible for managing a team of both Material Planners and Buyers. You will drive people and process performance and development and secure continuous service for internal and external customers such as internal factories, local and global sourcing, customer supply chain, product lifecycle management, logistics, and quality.You ensure manufacturing material requirements are met in a timely manner by the Procurement and Material Planning team via managing the supply requirements of material through new buy and repair/refurbishment activities. Lead methods for analyzing and executing MRP planned supply signals and coordinates activities across multiple groups including but not limited to Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Purchasing, and external supply base.You exercise high degree of discretion and judgment, establish priorities and delegate tasks to lower-level support personnel.Your team will oversee transfer of New Product Introduction materials into industrialized parts management.You will lead escalation interaction with suppliers, sub-contractors, contract manufacturers, distributors etc. when issues occur that require expert planning/supply chain support.You will coordinate and manage operational annual plans.You will build and maintain a network of in- and external stakeholders/partners and represent the organization.You will evaluate organizational design for own functional discipline, (work) processes and systems and initiate and implement changes and improvements.You will act on operational and tactical level in the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) department and drive critical goals within the overall visions.You will develop and drive Controls and team KPIs which to measure and monitor service levels and lead to improved performance of Material Planning activities.You will manage these (KPIs) including actions with clear deadlines when team is not meeting targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis depending on the KPI.You will drive the development activity of the Material Planning and Procurement team to support professional growth and career succession.Partner with Training and Development team to identify knowledge gaps and create training material and roadmaps to increase employee skillset.Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews with direct employees to provide coaching and feedback.Identify personnel resource requirements and make staffing recommendations to senior management.Use outstanding leadership abilities to select, develop, inspire and evaluate teams and individuals to achieve and maintain world-class performance.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and experienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Purchasing Management or related business or technical degree.8 years of professional experience working with supply chain processes in manufacturing with at least (2) years in a leadership role, in the position offered or related capacities. APICS certification and/or Six Sigma Certification a plus.Expert knowledge and understanding of MRP, JIT, Kanban Lean Manufacturing and supply versus demand theories.Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvements methodology.Knowledge as well as a proven track record of ERP systems preferable SAP, Ariba, or Oracle.People management and previous procurement or supply chain management experience.Proven track record in building and maintaining strategic relations with suppliers.Ability to manage the translation and statistical analysis of data, and effectively make recommendations to influence business practices.Advanced knowledge of MS suite of products such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent social and communication skills and demonstrated ability to coach and develop employees.Personal skillsLeadership skills, drive for results, act under high pressure.Being self-employed, initiative, pro-active attitude, goal oriented, flexible.Out of the box thinking and change management skills are essential.You will need a strong personality that is both flexible on some occasions and firm on others.Excellent professional communication in English.Context of the positionThis position is responsible for management of both Material Planning and Operational Procurement as part of a Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Organization. Supplier Operations represents ASML's logistics interface to its supply base and is responsible for material availability for ASML's factories and field. In today's complex multi-tier supply chains, this is only possible by creating full transparency in the chains and flexibility at suppliers.The department must handle the increased complexity of ASML's systems while reducing cost of ownership for customers. To do this, SS&P professionals work with suppliers to continuously reduce cycle time for components, modules and assemblies, increasing supply chain flexibility and create customer value.Other InformationSupplier Operations is an industry-leading supply-chain management organization, responsible for ensuring material availability to ASML's factories and customers in the field. Our DNA contains customer focus, concurrent engineering, virtual integration plus the ability to thrive in a volatile market, accelerate the supply chain and deliver creative solutions. The department plans up to four years ahead while customer requirements and system bill of materials can change at any time. Any break in material availability can have an unacceptable impact for our customers. So we must proactively identify and solve potential issues by working closely with our technical departments and customers, and actively managing an extensive supplier base.This role will be in an office environment.This role will be required to be on site in order to manage and promote teamwork, facilitate in person collaboration and innovation, provided leadership presence, and attend in person meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.ASML San Diego uses a hybrid work approach where this role is required to work at least (3) days within the office and up to (2) days from home.Responsibilities:Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
