The Program Director leads the program management and lifecycle management of the programs that compose the BioFire IVD Panels portfolio including all aspects of Panel development - chemistry, software and instrumentation updates and other associated components. The Program Director will be responsible for maximizing the value of the Global BioFire IVD Panels franchise. As the product portfolio owner, the Program Director ensures successful development, commercialization, and overall life cycle management of the BioFire Panels portfolio of products. The Director will work with the representatives from all functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Marketing) to manage the product pipeline; including development and introduction of new products, changes to the current product suite, and product obsolescence.This role is focused on managing and executing the roadmap of the BioFire Panels Program. The Program Director will manage a group of Project Managers and Project Leaders to execute the product roadmap. In addition, this role requires managing the annual development budget, long-range planning, prioritization of projects, and working with cross-functional teams on resource allocation. The Director will be responsible for implementing and driving the use of corporate project management tools across the program, and will represent the Program at the relevant Program and Portfolio governance bodies.Job duties include:

Manage the BioFire Panels product components throughout the lifecycle from concept to obsolescence

Manage team of project managers to define and execute product portfolio roadmapManage budget and long-range program planning to align with market needsMaintain tracking to ensure that priorities, goals, quality, time and budget are reached according to plan.Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel

Ensure alignment within Molecular Portfolio

Maintain portfolio requirements, business objectives, budget and schedule for the programDefine prioritization of projects and resource allocationsManage governance and communications for the program to upper managementReport key metrics showing the performance of the Program and projectsContribute to portfolio strategy definition by helping to prioritize programs and projects.Maintain a long-term roadmap for the portfolio and align the roadmap with operational roadmaps.

Ensure arbitration, escalation and decision taking to execute program

Evaluate, authorize and communicate changes that impact scope, budget or timelinesLead a cross-functional Core Team responsible for managing the portfolio of BioFire Panel projectsLead arbitration and escalation process when needed across projects

Qualifications:

B.S. in a technical field.

MS/MBA/PhD preferred, PMP certification preferred

At least 5 years of People Leadership/Management10 years of relevant experience in project and program management in regulated environment and ideally experience in portfolio management.Demonstrated leadership abilityDesire and willingness to take ownership and be accountable for critical business line.Deep understanding of panel development processUnderstanding and demonstrated experience with design control, risk management, and change control.Deep understanding of company organization, product line strategy, product lifecycle management, project/program/portfolio management.Leadership ability with focus on developing team of project leaders and driving alignment and collaboration of other stakeholders of key priority projects.Self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively. Proactive. Organized.
