Set the technical strategy for the teamLead complex technical initiatives within the teamExplore technical needs and bring solutions to the tableGather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture.Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments.Build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writingContinuously optimize solutions to improve overall Platform performance, availability and fault toleranceDrive Operational excellence through metrics driven approachUnderstand customer pain points, build solutions to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by applications and teamsMentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity, deep technical understanding through collaboration, code reviews, and leading by example.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of data engineering experience- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience with SQL- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS- Experience mentoring team members on best practicesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR- Experience operating large data warehousesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
