Dream Nashville is seeking a motivated and dedicated lead server who is enthusiastic about hospitality and committed to delivering exceptional guest service. While experience with micros, high-volume service, and in-depth food and beverage knowledge is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The lead server will guide the team to uphold the highest standards and foster a safe and supportive work environment.Duties & Functions
Oversee food and beverage operations in the absence of a manager.Uphold and enforce management standards and policies.Perform duties in accordance with established company policies.Adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.Mentor, train and work alongside fellow servers to enhance team performance.Assist in developing new ways to improve the restaurant and its service levels.Know all food items, cocktail items, wines by the glass, and prices to effectively promote to guests.Ensure that all perishable items used in the expo line (sauces, milk, juices, etc.) are labeled/dated and maintain quality control.Assist management in navigating a smooth flow of guest to server ratios throughout each shift.Attend and participate in any training sessions and department meetings.Ensure that all new servers have a good understanding of the food, wine, beer, and cocktail menus before moving them out of training.Maintain current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities, services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area.Work as part of a team.Portray a positive, friendly, and professional attitude at all times, always smiling and greeting guests warmly.Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.Assist management with weekly dry product order if needed.Assist management with updating server training manuals if needed.Handle guest interactions to ensure a positive dining experience while a manager is not present.Deliver food and beverages to guests effectively and in a timely manner.Respond to guests’ questions and needs.Coordinate with FOH and BOH staff for efficient service and communication.Report and coach colleagues to management promptly, ideally with a witness present.Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and procedures.Assign and post opening side work before the 9:30am lineup during all brunch days.Check out teammates' side work for accuracy and readiness.Count linen folds, verify section cleanliness, and prepare for the next shift.Count cash drops and ensure proper completion of required forms.Properly execute all closing procedures (side work, forms turned in to a manager, etc.).Leave completed checkout on the MOD’s desk.Perform efficient side work throughout the day.Listen to guests and anticipate their needs.Restock fridge/expo-line, ensuring all side stations are kept clean, tidy, and organized.Note: MODs reserve the right to modify job duties as needed; additional responsibilities may be assigned.This is a great opportunity to get a start with Hyatt as a restaurant server.
