SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:The Quantitative Analytics team is responsible for delivering strategic recommendations on critical business issues based on rigorous quantitative data analyses. The team enables data-driven decision making by analyzing multiple data sources, KPI's, trends, and market events to provide objective, actionable and strategic insight on business performance to the Commercial organization.The Quantitative Analytics Director supports commercial planning efforts by leading critical analyses and providing strategic recommendations on critical business issues including product performance, launch performance, digital and other promotion effectiveness/ROI, and resource allocation. The Quantitative Analytics Director is expected to lead projects, work independently, and collaborate extensively with partner groups within and outside of the Commercial Organization. This role will report to the Director, Quantitative Analytics.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Lead projects involving secondary data analytics and reporting, competitive analysis, digital and other promotion effectiveness/ROI, resource allocation, segmentation, and launch metricsEvaluate tactic performance and competitor strategiesProvide objective analysis and recommendations to support decision making and to enable the execution of key business initiativesMake recommendations to marketing and other stakeholders on the effectiveness of different marketing strategies and tactics.Clearly and concisely present analytic methodology and results to senior leadershipMine and analyze claims data and longitudinal patient-level data to track KPIs, generate hypotheses for brand teams, and to inform primary market researchPartner with Sales Ops to develop and implement analyses for field force promotion, including customer segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurements.Partner effectively and collaborate with internal divisions to provide holistic analytical insightBuild peer support and strong internal relationships with colleaguesSupervisory Responsibilities:

Education/Experience:BS/BA degree in related discipline and at least 12 years of related experience; or an advanced degree in quantitative field or quantitative MBA with at least 10 years of related experienceEquivalent combination of education and experienceExperience/The Ideal for Successful Entry into Job:At least 7 years of analytical experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industryAt least 3 years of oncology experience strongly preferredPrior marketing analytics and digital marketing analytics experience preferredKnowledge/Skills:Broad understanding of pharmaceutical data, including sales and claims data, and which source to leverage in order to answer business questions most effectivelySignificant hands-on experience analyzing large pharmaceutical secondary datasets (prescriber level, payer, patient / longitudinal, call activity) using advanced statistical techniquesExperience using patient level data (medical/retail claims) to analyze treatment/usage patternsExperience with customer segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurementsExperience leveraging medical claims data sets to conduct patient level longitudinal analyses.Experience in marketing analytics and e-marketing analyticsExperience working with or in marketing.Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses to generate insight and recommendationsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and execute creative solutionsProven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentExperience working with 3rd party data management / analytics service providersProficiency in analytical tools is required (e.g., SAS, SPSS, or SQL)A keen eye for detail and excellent organizational and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, and to develop and maintain strong partnershipsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWORKING CONDITIONS:

The base pay range for this position is $170,000 - $241,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan.
