Culmen International is seeking Language Directors for a future Health and Human Services opportunity. The Language Director provides and coordinates interpreting services, advocates for youth's issues with interpreter services and access, and implements outreach strategies to generate interpreting contracts.What You'll Do in Your New Role
Manage and coordinate language services provided within the facility to unaccompanied children.Develop strategies and protocols to meet the language needs of unaccompanied minors, including interpretation, translation, and language support services.Train facility staff on language-related protocols, cultural competency, and effective communication strategies.Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure quality language services.Facilitate access to qualified interpreters for minors with limited English proficiency during medical appointments, legal assessments, counseling sessions, and other essential interactions.Coordinate translation services for important documents, forms, and informational materials, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate translations are provided in a timely manner.Conduct ongoing assessments of language needs within the facility and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address any gaps or challenges.Ensure compliance with relevant language access laws and regulations.Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions of contracts for communication services.Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and participate in audits related to language services.Work independently, react to change productively, and handle other essential tasks as assigned while exercising a high level of confidentiality.Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in interpreting, business, human services, or related field.Minimum of (3) three years interpreting services experience, or relevant field.Minimum of (1) one year supervisory experience.Experience in working with youth in residential, detention facilities, or those with high-risk backgrounds preferred.Must be computer literate.Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.Proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.Possess a valid Driver's License.Possess a clear Tuberculosis test.Ability to successfully clear a background check.Ability to successfully clear a drug screening.Provide immunization documentation for Tdap, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis A and B, Varicella.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.About the Company
