About This RoleWe are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Portfolio Optimization Engineering team within Aladdin Wealth Tech. You will be part of a product engineering team with a start-up feel and a global impact. Our team is spread across New York City, San Francisco, and London, working directly with client-facing teams supporting live clients in over 15 countries. Our optimization capabilities are used by our clients to manage their portfolios at scale through our end-to-end system. The team also contributes to the build and support of the broader Aladdin Wealth platform.As part of your role, you will develop, deploy, and support the portfolio optimization capabilities as APIs and software libraries for wealth management use cases. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing and supporting the broader set of Aladdin Wealth platform, including our high-scale distributed computing platform.

Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-scale tax-aware portfolio optimization capabilities as interactive APIs and software libraries in Java and Kotlin.Partner with Product Management, Research, and Client teams to improve the optimization offering.Review code from peers and provide feedback to ensure code quality, best practices, and knowledge sharing.Participate in technical design reviews for API and services architecture with peers and stakeholders.Learn from the latest market practices, guidelines, and regulations, and translate them into algorithms to scale our optimization offering across more regional client-specific use cases.Continually improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of portfolio optimization capabilities and operational processes.Basic Qualifications3+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role in a commercial capacity.Experience working with Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based programming languages.Experience developing high-quality software and code analysis tools.Experience working with Git, CI/CD, Scrum workflow, and SDLC process.Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on complex data models and applied mathematics.Experience with JVM performance benchmarking and analysis.Experience with relational and non-relational databases at an enterprise scale.Familiarity with portfolio analysis and financial risk management.Familiarity with optimization concepts and software libraries.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Compensation and BenefitsFor New York City only: The salary range for this position is $132,500 - $157,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
