Senior React Native Developer- Freelance
is responsible for leading React Native development efforts on specific projects. The ideal candidate will have specialized knowledge and experience in React Native development, including implementing React Native development best practices, defining code architecture, implementing processes, and applying advanced debugging techniques.This position also requires strong leadership qualities, including an ability to clarify team roles within a project, delegate development tasks to other junior team members, and oversee delivery of releases. As a Senior React Native Developer- Freelance, you’ll be overseeing and mentoring other React Native developers at a variety of skill levels.What you’ll do:Develop:
Write code that is consistent and clean both in formatting style and design with current React Native coding practices. Review code for your peers.Collaborate:
Work with a team of developers, designers, business analysts, QA, and project management to produce high-quality projects for large brands that you know and use.Deliver:
Ship releases to users regularly and see your work go live early and often.Plan:
Participate in planning for the future of your project, including estimating, scoping, and helping build a feature roadmap with your team and clients.Mentor:
Mentor developers and associate developers on your team and help them grow.Influence:
Grow the React Native development craft, define best practices, and build processes that can be shared across multiple teams.Who you are:Builder:

You’re driven to keep finding solutions to interesting and challenging problems.What you’ll need:At least 5 years of experience as a React Native Developer.Experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Charles Proxy, and Postman.BA/BS degree with a technology-related major or equivalent experience.Able to provide direction to other developers up to the Senior level.Able to evaluate technologies brought forward from clients.Able to advocate for scope of work and resource needs.Able to assist peers in project troubleshooting.Ability to estimate upcoming scopes of work.Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to work tightly with an experienced and diverse set of team members.Significant experience working within an Agile environment (referencing user stories, participating in sprints, daily scrums and retrospectives).Experience using React Native to develop hybrid mobile projects either professionally or freelance.Experience with popular React workflows (such as Flux or Redux).Experience using React to develop web-based projects either professionally or freelance.Experience building native Android and/or iOS apps in Kotlin and/or Swift.Experience working with TypeScript.The Ideal CandidateWill possess an entrepreneurial spirit, who thrives with a certain level of uncertainty and autonomy yet manages to navigate among multiple stakeholders (internally and externally) to secure structured and successful social media engagements and grow target audiences.Personality and approach: Collaborative, positive, result-driven, energetic, self-driven, ethical, emphatic, robust, daring, executional (can do - get things done attitude).Strong communication, motivational and active listening skills.Culturally aligned with VML values, culture and guiding principles.VML is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity and to attracting and retaining the most qualified employees regardless of race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, age or disability.The compensation for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below.
